Turkey's pig iron imports increased in January, both on-month and year, and came from Russia and Ukraine, show Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
In the first month of the year Turkish steelmakers received 105,842 tonnes of pig iron under HS code header 7201, up 35.5% on-month and 40.7% on-year. The January arrivals' average price stood at $439/tonne, as compared to $445/t in December and $587/t in January 2022, according to TUIK data.
