Turkish rebar continues rise amid costlier scrap
Turkish rebar producers have further increased their quotes this week amid sharply rising scrap values.
Although export sales are at almost zero, increasing scrap prices have pushed mills to hike export quotes as well as domestic prices. On Thursday, mills’ rebar export offers were at $700-720/tonne fob Turkey actual weight, up from $665-685/t a week earlier. Offers for mesh-quality wire rod, meanwhile, were at $710-740/t fob.
