Turkish rebar prices continue decline despite firm scrap
Turkish long steel producers have further decreased their prices, although they failed to push scrap values to desired levels. Mills’ margins are now squeezed further as scrap prices remain firm and energy costs high.
On Thursday, Turkish mills’ export offers were mostly at $650-665/tonne fob Turkey actual weight, down from $665-680/t a week earlier. Offers for mesh-quality wire rod, meanwhile, were at $660-675/t fob.
