Zagorsk Pipe Plant (ZTZ)’s Ural Steel works has installed a new gas collector on coke oven battery No.1 to prevent the release of coke oven gas into the atmosphere, Kallanish notes.
The 70-metre-long structure collects 100% of the gas, which is about 8.8 million m3 per year, and sends it to the capture shop. It is then cleaned and transferred to the heating needs of the plant and partially used in the coke unit itself, the enterprise claims.
