US adds 8 rigs, Canada loses 16
The US added eight operational rigs for the week ended 17 March for a total of 754, while Canada lost 16 rigs, bringing its total count to 207, Kallanish learns from energy services company Baker Hughes.
Of the US’ total rigs, 589 are for oil and 162 are for gas. The remaining rigs were classified as miscellaneous. This is an increase of 91 from the equivalent week last year.
