US drops 7 rigs, Canada adds 105
The US operational rig count dropped by seven for the week ended 6 January, while Canada added 105, Kallanish learns from energy services company Baker Hughes.
The total US count for the week is 772 – 618 are for oil and 152 are for gas. This is a total increase of 184 from the equivalent week last year.
