US mill output, utilisation ticks up

Production of raw steel products in the US ticked up during the week ended 15 January, according to a Kallanish analysis of the latest American Iron and Steel Institute data. US mills, operating at 83.2% of overall capability, made 1.833 million short tons of steel products during the week. This was a 1.1% rise from the previous week when mills ran at 82.3% of capability.
