US mills raise rebar prices in March

Rebar producers in the US are raising prices by $50/short ton, as domestic scrap prices are projected to rise during this month's trading. However, this increase has yet to have an impact on rebar spot pricing.
A Northeastern distributor confirms with Kallanish that Nucor, Commercial Metals Company, and Gerdau increased their rebar selling prices by $50/st this week, but maintains that rebar's spot pricing remains at around $920-940/st.
