US plate prices decrease on-week
US plates prices appear to have made a modest decline from last week, Kallanish reports.
This week, plate prices range from $1,840-$1,870/short ton, ex-works, domestic mill, down from $1,860-$1,880/st in the week prior.
“Prices are trending downwards, but there are no official announcements. I think we will see a decrease in September as some Korean plates are arriving at a lower number,” a buy-side source explains.
