US plate prices hold, mills work through backlog
For the third week in a row, Kallanish holds US plate prices at $1,840-1,870/short ton.
This price is a slight decrease from plate prices in the prior three weeks, when US plate was holding at $1,860-$1,880/short ton.
“Utilisation from plate mills dropped to about 60%. Seems that they are catching up on the backlog. Next week we will hear on September numbers,” says a buy-side source.
All prices are ex-works, domestic mill.
