US plate prices hold on week
US steel plate prices are holding at $1,460-1,490/short ton for the second consecutive week, Kallanish learns.
Nucor issued a price decrease on normalised, quench & temper, as-rolled discrete plate in the week of 29 November 2022 amounting to $140/short ton.
“Business is very slow. I think prices could fall again,” a distribution source explains.
In the week of 7 December 2021, the price of steel plate ranged from $1,830-1,880/st.
