US plate prices hold, service centres cautious
US plate prices are holding between $1,445-1,475/short ton despite fears of price decreases, Kallanish understands.
“Transactional prices from service centres continue to fall. Service centres continue to take a cautious approach to adding inventory right now, as prices are uncertain in the coming weeks. Nucor Brandenberg is fine-tuning its new mill and appears to be a few months away from full production,” a plate distribution source explains.
