US raw steel production falters
US raw steel production slipped both on-week and on-year in the week ended 9 July, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.748 million short tons at 79.3% capability utilisation, down 1.1% from the previous week, when utilisation was 80.9%, and down 6.1% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 84.4%.
