US rebar remains stuck in pre-holiday rut

US rebar prices appear to be holding steady ahead of the Christmas holiday.
Kallanish currently puts #4 product in 20-foot sticks at $570-590/short ton. All prices are ex-works, domestic mill.
Several buy-side sources have said they do not expect mills to risk a base price hike until at least January, despite gains in the scrap market and associated increases in the flat-rolled arena.
