US rigs increase by 2, Canada loses 3
The US rig count for the week ended 17 November increased by two, bringing the total to 618. Canada reduced its rigs by three, for a total of 196, Kallanish learns from energy services company Baker Hughes.
Of the US total rigs, 500 are for oil and 114 are for gas. The remaining rigs were classified as miscellaneous. The US total rig count is down 164 from the equivalent week last year.
