US steel imports climb in October

The American Iron and Steel Institute shows a 7.2% increase in October versus September imports, Kallanish finds. Year-to-date, the import market share of finished steel goods is 24%. Numbers are based on the preliminary data from the Department of Commerce. In October, the US imported a total of 2.4 million short tons of steel, of which 1.95m st consisted of finished steel.
