US steel production decreases on-week
US raw steel production for the week of 3 December was 1.63 million short tons with a capability utilisation rate of 73.1%, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute. The figure represents a 9.5% decrease from 3 December, 2021, when production was 1.83m st and utilisation was 81.68%.
