Volatile Chinese prices cloud ASEAN longs market direction
The strengthening of the Chinese steel market this week has cast uncertainty over the East Asian import market for rebar and wire rod, Kallanish notes.
Trading is sparse as export offers to the region are limited due to suppliers withdrawing from the market and traders expecting offers will be hiked. On the other hand, regional buyers are hesitating as they wait for market stability. The Chinese steel market was softening last week.
