Weak demand burdens Tangshan billet market
End users of China’s Tangshan (TS) billet cannot chase higher prices because of their own poor margins. In addition, their productions has been suspended because of environmental protection rules imposed during heavy air pollution from 19 November, Kallanish notes.
Tangshan billet prices increased CNY 40/tonne ($5.57/t) to CNY 3,730/t last week, while the January rebar contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange rose CNY 57/t. TS mills raised ex-works billet pā¦
