Wire rod prices strengthen in ASEAN
The wire rod import market in Southeast Asia saw offer prices rise this week, Kallanish notes. Buyers in the region are, however, slow to react to the hikes.
Chinese-origin 6.5mm diameter wire rod is currently offered by traders at around $600/tonne cfr Manila. However, Chinese mills hiked alloy-added wire rod export offers to $610-620/t fob China for February or March shipments.
