Zhoukou Steel targets new electric arc furnace
Anyang Steel, the biggest steel enterprise in China’s Henan Province, plans to remove an old electric arc furnace (EAF) at its headquarters in Anyang City, and to build a bigger one in its Zhoukou base, under the charge of subsidiary Zhoukou Steel, Kallanish notes.
The old 100-tonne EAF will provide 1.3 million tonnes/year of crude steel capacity quotas for the new equipment, without any capacity reduction requirements.
