ExxonMobil acquires 120,000 acres for Arkansas lithium brine exploration
Texas-based oil giant ExxonMobil is hedging its bets moving forward by investing $100 million in lithium brine exploration in southern Arkansas, Kallanish reports.
The company has quietly acquired 120,000 acres in the Smackover Formation Arkansas from Galvanic Energy, an Oklahoma-based exploration company, and those drilling rights could produce enough lithium to power 50m vehicles, according to the Wall Street Journal.
