General Motors reorganises commercial EV subsidiary BrightDrop
Almost three years after launching the effort, General Motors (GM) has absorbed its commercial EV subsidiary BrightDrop into the main business.
Launched in January 2021, BrightDrop was a wholly owned subsidiary born out of GM’s Innovation Lab. In its time as a startup, BrightDrop forged various partnerships with companies including Ryder, FedEx and Walmart, helping to electrify their fleet operations across North America.
