ASEAN billet market stagnates in China's absence
The ASEAN billet import market remains stagnant, Kallanish notes.
A leading Indonesian mill’s planned $20/tonne hike for 3sp 150mm billet did not succeed and the mill’s prices are back to around $500/t fob, trading sources say. A regional trader hears that the mill had initially lowered its prices to $500/t fob after making a sale to Sri Lanka at this level. The mill has now reduced its 3sp billet to $497/t fob, he adds.
