Canada mining output expands but GDP growth flat
Canada's GDP was flat in December, with gains in mining output partially offset by a decline in construction output, Kallanish learns from data gathered by Statistics Canada.
According to the organisation's latest report, mining activity was up for the third consecutive month with a 1.5% month-on-month gain. Contributing to that gain was a 4.9% m-o-m increase in iron ore mining activity.
