Chinese rebar market enters holiday mode
China's rebar market gradually entered the holiday season through last week, until last Friday the market was almost at a standstill.
In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 20mm HRB400 rebar was trading at CNY 3,830-3,850/tonne ($536-539/t), down CNY 20/t on-week, Kallanish assesses. The May 2024 rebar contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed at CNY 3,825/t, down CNY 43/t compared with Thursday and CNY 148/t lower from the previous Friday.
