DMCI ships more nickel ore despite lower output
DMCI Holdings Inc. in the Philippines shipped more nickel ore in the first quarter this year, although its output nearly halved due to the depletion of its Berong mine, Kallanish notes.
In Q1, its subsidiary DMCI Mining produced 318,000 wet metric tonnes of nickel ore, down 43% year-on-year. Shipments expanded by 26% to 620,000t containing 1.3% of pure metal on average, falling from 1.37% a year earlier. This caused a 72% decline in inventories, which stood at 154…
