JFE orders stainless steel EAF from Daido Steel
Japanese steelmaker JFE Steel has selected a STARQ electric arc furnace (EAF) supplied by Daido Steel for the No. 4 steelmaking plant of its Chiba District facility.
With the new EAF, JFE would be able to produce around 300,000 tonnes/year of stainless steel using scrap and reduce up to 450,000 t/y of carbon emissions, Kallanish learns.
