Date Feb. 9, 2023
Duration 3 hours
Location London, United Kingdom

Overview
We are pleased to announce Kallanish Green Steel Forum will take place on the 9th February 2023, at Ironmongers' Hall in London. This will be an excellent opportunity to meet, network and learn from your industry peers face-to-face.
Steel is critical to the transition to a carbon neutral, circular economy. The steel industry is currently responsible for around 6-7% of global carbon emissions. Just over half of the major steel companies around the world have published carbon emission reduction targets to achieve net-zero. Achieving significant carbon emission reduction targets requires major changes in technology and raw material use. A multitude of low carbon steelmaking technologies are under varying stages of development and implementation, with CCSU and green H2 often key components.
We invite you to join us at the Kallanish Green Steel Forum – London event to hear from steel industry leaders on how the sector is transforming to meet net-zero targets, and sharpen your understanding of the new world of opportunities and challenges that green steel presents. Book your place now!

Hugo Campos, Manager Global Automotive Strategy, Sustainability and XCarb® Solutions, ArcelorMittal

Hugo is a sustainability expert with around 10 years’ experience in the steel sector. He is focussed on the intersection between sustainability, climate change, product innovation and marketing. He is currently the Sustainability Manager at ArcelorMittal Europe, where he is responsible for commercialising the company’s XCarb® product range of low-carbon steels. He provides technical advice and guidance to ArcelorMittal’s marketing teams. Hugo has a strong background in sustainability and holds a Master of Science in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London.
Steven Randall, MD, Kallanish Index Services

Steven Randall has over 25 years of experience in the steel, metals and mining sectors where he has worked in a range of consulting, corporate and entrepreneurial roles. Steven co-founded The Steel Index (TSI), a specialist ferrous price information service, in 2006. He quickly established TSI as the leading provider of benchmark prices for iron ore, steel and scrap, used by industrial companies worldwide and as the settlement basis for over 30 futures/derivatives contracts on commodities exchanges in Asia, Europe and North America – most notably the SGX iron ore contracts and LME steel scrap contract. Having built TSI into a multi-million $ business, it was sold to S&P Global Platts in 2011. Steven continued as TSI’s Managing Director for a further four years before being appointed as the Director of Global Content (pricing, news and analysis) for all of Platts metals and TSI. He left this position at the end of June 2016 to pursue new ventures and undertake independent consulting assignments. In 2021 Steven joined the Kallanish team to set up Kallanish Index Services. Kallanish Index Services (KIS) specialises in compiling price indices for commodity markets using a rigorous, data-driven methodology. It works closely with market participants to compile the price indices and other essential industry data they need for business success. KIS is independent and impartial, with a small team of analysts based around the world. Prior to establishing TSI, Steven was the Director of Strategy at Corus, the major European steel producer acquired by Tata Steel in 2007. In this role he was responsible for the Group’s corporate strategy and planning activities for over four years. Steven started his career as a strategy consultant in 1988, working for over eleven years with Hatch Beddows in Europe and North America, specialising in steel industry projects. Following this, he joined Steelscreen, an independent metals e-marketplace, as its UK General Manager. Steven holds an MA in Mathematics from Cambridge University.
