Andritz/Schuler acquires battery technology group Sovema
Plantbuilder group Andritz has acquired Italy’s Sovema, an Italian supplier of equipment for the production of battery cells, Kallanish hears from the Austrian buyer.
Sovema will become a part of Schuler, Andritz’ German-based maker of sheet pressing technology. Together with Sovema, Schuler plans to develop the capabilities needed to equip gigafactories for the mass production of lithium-ion batteries.
