Automotive strike action continues in US amid layoffs
The United Auto Workers (UAW) union continues to clash with Detroit’s Big Three in contract negotiations, raising concerns that both strike action and company layoffs could impact vehicle production.
While the union is still negotiating with Ford, General Motors and Stellantis, UAW president Shawn Fain has threatened additional strike action on 22 September if “serious progress” isn’t made in the bargaining process.
