BMW to invest €200m in South Africa car plant electrification
German carmaker BMW said Thursday it will electrify its 50-year-old Rosslyn plant in South Africa to maintain the facility in its global production network, Kallanish reports.
Over €200 million ($217.7m) will be invested in the plant’s transformation so that it can produce the next-generation BMW X3 from 2024. The plug-in hybrid electric vehicle will be manufactured for global export.
