bp to build EV battery R&D centre in UK
bp said Monday it will build a new global battery research and development centre at its Castrol headquarters in the UK, aiming to bring EVs closer to mainstream adoption.
The plan is to invest up to £50 million ($61.2m) into a new EV battery testing centre and analytical laboratory in Pangbourne. Operations are to start by end-2024, complementing Castrol On’s efforts in EV fluids, Kallanish reports.
