California's Palen solar-storage project begins full operation
The US Interior Department says the $1 billion Palen Solar Project in southern California has reached full-power operation, Kallanish reports.
The 457-megawatt solar project developed by EDF Renewable Energy includes 50 MW of battery storage. It is located on 4,200 acres east of Desert Center in Riverside County. The project can produce enough energy to power about 116,000 homes.
