CATL, Volvo to collaborate on battery recycling
Chinese battery giant CATL and Swedish carmaker Volvo Cars have inked a memorandum of strategic cooperation on battery closed-loop recycling, Kallanish learns.
In a statement on Thursday, the companies said Volvo will recycle retired and used batteries through Volvo-certified downstream suppliers. CATL will use the recycled materials to produce new batteries which will be used for Volvo’s new vehicle production.
