Companies advance battery recycling, upcycling demonstration plant
Canada-based American Manganese says it is advancing plans for what it calls the first hydrometallurgical cathode waste recycling and upcycling demonstration facility in North America, Kallanish reports.
The 6,700-square-foot RecycLiCo facility, outside Vancouver, British Columbia, is expected to begin operations in February 2022. It will process 500 kilograms/day of cathode waste from lithium-ion batteries.
