EC proposes gradual ICE phase out for heavy-duty vehicles

The European Commission proposed on Tuesday to set targets to reduce new heavy-duty vehicles (HDV) emissions by 90% from 2040 whilst banning new ICE city buses sales by 2030, Kallanish reports. The phased-in approach seeks to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 45% from 2030, 65% from 2035, and 90% from 2040.
