Fisker secures LFP, NMC battery supply deal with CATL
US electric vehicle start-up Fisker has secured long-term battery capacity with China’s CATL to produce its inaugural Fisker Ocean SUV, Kallanish reports.
The companies have been working on a “unique” battery cell since 2020 and have now firmed a supply agreement for over 5 gigawatt-hours annual capacity through 2025. The deal will see CATL provide Fisker large nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) packs and small lithium iron phosphate (LFP) packs.
