Ford to build $3.5 billion battery plant in Michigan
US automaker Ford plans to build a $3.5 billion lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery plant in Marshall, Michigan, Kallanish learns from a press conference by executive chairman Bill Ford alongside Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Ford ceo Jim Farley.
“I believe building in America matters more than ever,” says Ford, adding that the LFP batteries will be “more affordable, incredibly durable, and they’ll charge faster.”
