Germany's Fraunhofer institute develops low-cost zinc battery
The Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration (IZM) is currently developing a low-cost zinc battery that can both store energy and produce hydrogen, Kallanish learns from the Berlin-based institute.
Under the name Zn-H2, the project involves a consortium of research bodies, and companies Zn2H2 GmbH and Steel PRO Maschinenbau GmbH. The goal is a long-lifetime battery that is suitable for long-term storage of green energy.
