Genesis Motor Europe has partnered with Shell Recharge Solutions to launch its Genesis Charging programme and give its drivers access to over 300,000 public charging points in Europe.

The South Korean carmaker says the “hassle-free electric charging solution” is further evidence of the brand’s commitment to delivering a sustainable and fully connected premium electric experience.

Through a co-branded Genesis and Shell Recharge app, users can instantly find the nearest available charging locations, check tariffs and track charging sessions. Payment is done in a single bill for all charging sessions, Kallanish learns.

The programme includes a 5-year free IONITY subscription, providing subsidised charging rates when using the IONITY network of 350 kW ultra-fast chargers in 24 European countries.

Genesis says its drivers will receive “best in the market” charging rates (including VAT) at IONITY such as €0.07/kWh ($0.07) in Portugal, €0.25/kWh in Germany, £0.24/kWh ($0.29) in the UK, €0.26/kWh in Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, France, Lithuania and others. In Scandinavia, tariffs will be €0.27 per minute in Finland, NOK 2.75/kWh ($0.27) in Norway, DKK 2.00/kWh ($0.28) in Denmark and SEK 2.88/kWh ($0.28) in Sweden. Services aren’t available in Greece, Monaco, Luxembourg, Romania and Liechtenstein.

Additionally, the programme covers home charging solutions that feature a fully installed smart chargepoint and customer support. The Genesis-branded Shell Recharge advanced charger is a fully connected unit, allowing owners to easily track and programme their home charging sessions using the same Genesis Charging app, the company explains.
