German BEV sales up 47% amid collapse in PHEV registrations
Battery electric vehicle (BEV) registrations in the German new car market increased 46.6% on-year in May with Tesla’s Model Y leading sales, Kallanish reports.
Data released by the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) on Wednesday shows that despite the sustained market growth, EV penetration remained slightly lower than of that diesel cars. The former held a market share of 17.3% and the latter 17.6%.
