Green hydrogen costs to be cheaper than blue by 2030
Green hydrogen production costs will become cheaper than those of natural gas-based blue hydrogen by 2030 globally, according to a BNEF report published late last month.
Assuming 20-year natural gas price outlook averages and an optimistic alkaline electrolyser cost scenario, the report estimates cost reversal will happen as early as next year in China. Brazil will follow the trend in 2024 and India in 2025.
