Hydrogen blending to be tested at Michigan gas-fired power plant
Testing to blend hydrogen with natural gas is set to begin at a Michigan power plant, Kallanish reports.
Wisconsin-based WEC Energy intends to begin blending 25% hydrogen with 75% natural gas to reduce carbon emissions at its 55-megawatt AJ Mihm power plant at L’Anse, Michigan, in the state’s Upper Peninsula. Partners on the pilot project include Finland-based Wartsila, the Electric Power Research Institute and Burns & McDowell.
