IHI to produce hydrogen using iron ore as catalyst
Japan’s machinery industry company IHI Corporation has installed a prototype hydrogen manufacturing device that uses natural gas pyrolysis at its Yokohama Works, Kallanish reports.
The installation was complete in December 2023, demonstrating a new way to manufacture hydrogen using iron ore as catalysts. The technology heats natural gas and breaks it down into hydrogen and solid carbon.
