ISA to begin accepting seafloor mining applications in July 2023
The United Nations’ International Seabed Authority will begin accepting applications from countries and companies that want to mine the ocean floor for electric vehicle battery materials on 9 July, even though the agency has not yet completed drafting industry-wide rules for such seafloor mining, Kallanish reports.
