Japan and the US signed on Tuesday a critical minerals trade deal aimed at strengthening supply chains in the context of the US Inflation Reduction Act, Kallanish reports.
The deal builds on the 2019 US-Japan trade agreement and promotes the adoption of EV battery technologies. The agreement secures another source of critical minerals to the US from an ally, helping its EV battery supply chain become less reliant on Chinese supply.
