LG Energy Solution, Hyundai Motor break ground on 10 GWh gigafactory in Indonesia
LG Energy Solution and Hyundai Motor Group started on Wednesday construction work on their battery gigafactory in Karawang, Indonesia.
The 50-50 joint venture will produce NCMA (nickel, cobalt, manganese, aluminium) battery cells in a 300,000 square-metre site. The factory will have an initial capacity of 10 gigawatt-hours – enough to supply around 150,000 electric vehicles.
