Li-Cycle doubles black mass production in H1, pushes global expansion
Toronto-based lithium-ion battery recycler Li-Cycle has more than doubled its black mass production in the first half of the year, ahead of the planned commissioning of its Rochester Hub by year-end.
The company produced 3,572 tonnes of black mass and derivatives during January-June 2023 – up 136% from the 1,514 t produced during the same period a year earlier. In Q2 alone, black mass production rose 112% on-year to 1,719 t.
