BMW Group picks Livent as new leading supplier
BMW Group said on Tuesday it has picked US-based lithium producer Livent to be its second leading supplier, ahead of expected growth in electric vehicle manufacturing.
Under the “multi-year” contract signed by the companies, Livent will begin supplying directly to BMW Group’s battery cell manufacturers from 2022. Volume details on the €285 million ($334.6m) deal weren’t disclosed, Kallanish notes.
